Missing a basic statistics or computer science course from your transcript?

Need a prerequisite to enter the Data Science Graduate Certificate Program?

For a limited time, Truman State University will be offering CS 170 (Introduction to Computer Science) and STAT 190 (Basic Statistics) at half the normal in-state, undergraduate rate.

  • CS 170 – 4 credits
    With Charles Lively: Introduction to key ideas of computing and programming. Basic concepts, variables, functions, loops, algorithms, data types, graphics. Brief introduction to computing ideas such as data representation, hardware, operating systems, information systems, artificial intelligence, networks, and the World Wide Web.
  • STAT 190 – 3 credits
    With Kristin Anguiano: An introduction to descriptive and inferential statistics with practical applications.

Both courses are offered entirely online.

Students interested in pursuing the Data Science Graduate Certificate Program can enroll for these courses for $150 per credit hour (normally $324.50 per credit hour) plus a $30 online course fee.

Classes are eight weeks long and begin on the following dates:

  • December 30, 2019
  • February 24, 2020
  • April 20, 2020
